La Bunésma: A Name, a Connection to My Roots
The name I have chosen for my business is a tribute to my roots and a precious life lesson. “La Bunésma” is the affectionate nickname my grandfather used to call me when I was a child; in the Modenese dialect, it signifies dedication, care, and the desire to do things well for others. Today, this nickname has become my professional signature, reflecting an approach where every word is chosen with the same care and the same spirit of service.
This name is deeply intertwined with the “Bonissima,” a famous medieval statue placed on the Palazzo Comunale in Modena in 1468. Although its historical origin is linked to “Bona Stima”—the office that guaranteed fair trade—popular tradition has transformed it into a legend. It is said that the statue represents a noble lady who, during a severe famine, chose to secretly feed the starving population.
Just as this figure embodies the values of integrity and dedication to the common good for our community, my work as a translator is founded on care, reliability, and the utmost attention to every project, transforming every translation into an act of precision and respect for the cultural context.
